Healing in Haiti

With funds from the foundation, the Center for Mind-Body Medicine has designed a nationwide program in Haiti to train several thousand clinicians and educators in evidence-based techniques for trauma support, to provide help and healing to hundreds of thousands of Haitians.

  • 43,000+ children and adults served

  • 240 clinicians, educators, religious & community leaders trained in mind-body medicine techniques

  • 120 organizations currently participating in the program across Haiti

Well-Being at George Mason University

With a 10-year grant from the deLaski Family foundation in 2010, George Mason University formed the Center for the Advancement of Well-Being. The center furthers research on the science of the mind-body connection, and supports thousands of students, faculty and staff, and employer partners in applying the latest research in wellness toward the goal of holistic health. The center features

  • The nation's first well-being minor for undergraduates

  • Student dorms themed around well-being

  • A resilience badge

  • National conferences to push the field.

Upskilling Pathways

Over 15 months, Education Design Lab worked with partners in San Antonio, Texas to design and launch two pathways to expand career opportunities for frontline workers. Goodwill Industries of San Antonio, their employer partner, has seen substantial gains among program participants in productivity, collaboration, and leadership - skills essential for positioning frontline workers for middle-skill jobs.
